Irish courses on e-learning website ranganna.com (3, 6 or 12 months)

Gaelchultúr is pleased to announce that we’ve made some changes to our e-learning website, ranganna.com, and that those registering for certain courses now have a choice between a three-month, a six-month or 12-month subscription.

Intensive Preparatory Course for the Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Primary Teaching) Interview

Despite all the cut-backs in education, many people are still interested in pursuing a career in teaching. The Postgraduate Diploma in Education is being offered again by various colleges in early 2011 and they are anticipating a high level of demand.

King’s Inns to offer two new diploma courses in Irish

As Irish is an official language of the European Union, the European institutions will be recruiting lawyer-linguists and legal translators in the years ahead who have an excellent level of competency in Irish. King’s Inns is offering two new diploma courses which aim to prepare the participants for the entrance exams that will take place in the future when the above-mentioned vacancies are being filled.

Gaelchultúr launches new multimedia Irish language course

At an event held at Foras na Gaeilge in Dublin in early November, the Minister for Community, Equality and Gaeltacht Affairs, Pat Carey, TD, launched a new multimedia course for adult learners of Irish, Gaeilge gan Stró! – Lower Intermediate Level. This course, which consists of a book and two CDs, was published by Gaelchultúr.

Cré na Cille on DVD

Unflinchingly honest and fiercely eloquent; Cré na Cille is a dark comedy on the obsessive hatred between two sisters. This film, which is an adaptation of the celebrated novel by Máirtín Ó Cadhain, is now available on DVD. It was produced by Conamara-based company Rosg and was shown on TG4 several years ago when the centenary of Ó Cadhain’s birth was being marked.

Colmcille launches new website

A new website has been launched by Colmcille, the organisation charged with promoting the use of the Irish language and Scottish Gaelic in Ireland and Scotland, and fostering stronger links between speakers in the two countries.
